Listings are sold on an annual basis. Yellow pages are non-commissionable. Payment must accompany order. Maximum 45 characters per line.

7. SOURCE BOOK INCHES
Available only in the January/February Source Book. Source Book Inches are $120. each, with a 5% discount for each additional inch. Add Yellow to Your Source Book Inch - $150 each. Add 4-color to Your Source Book Inch - $190. Inches cannot be stacked. Dimensions: 1" high x 2-3/16" wide. Inch ads are non-commissionable.

8. CLASSIFIED
Classified ads are $1.70 per word, $51.00 minimum (30 words). Minimum rate of $51.00 does not include bold words. Bold words are $1.90 per word. New product, display advertising and companies whose regular products and/or services are being advertised are not accepted for classified ads. Payment must accompany order. No phone or fax orders. Classified ads are non-commissionable. Add $12.00 for blind box ads.

9. COMMISSION
A 15% discount is offered to recognized agencies on space, color and position charges only. Production charges are not commissionable. Ads designed, typeset, produced, or in any way created, in whole or part, including but not limited to color separations, by The National Dipper, will not receive an agency discount. Agency commission is not allowed on accounts paid after 30 days of invoice date.

10. TERMS

All payment due upon receipt of invoice. Cash discounts not allowed. If the amount due is not paid in full 30 days from invoice date, the 15% agency commission will not be allowed, all future advertising will be cash with order and the sum of 1.5% per month interest and carrying charges and all costs of collection will be charged until the full amount is paid. After 30 days from date of invoice Reader Service Requests will be withheld. After 60 days all sums due will be turned over for collection. Advertisers will be billed at the one-time rate until a frequency rate is achieved within a twelve month period. New advertisers must send payment with order and three credit references for the first ad. After references have been verified, future advertising will be billed when the magazine is mailed. 1/8 and 1/12 page ads must be paid with order until credit is established. Advertisers outside the continental United States must send payment with order.

11. REBATES
Advertisers will be rebated if, within a twelve month period from the date of the first insertion, they have used sufficient additional space to warrant a lower rate than that at which they have been billed.

12. RATE PROTECTIVE CLAUSE
When new rates are issued, contract advertisers will be protected at their contract rates for the length of the current contract period.

13. INSERTS
Inserts are billed at black and white rates plus charge for binding and backing up. No additional color rates are charged. Send copy of insert to publisher for exact quote. Binding charges are non-commissionable.

14. REPRINTS
Reprints are available for articles and advertising. Contact publisher for current prices. Reprints must be ordered prior to press run.

15. MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS
Printing Process: Heatset Web. Electronic media accepted using the following programs: QuarkXPress (version 3.x or 4.x); Adobe PageMaker (versions 5.x or 6.x); Adobe InDesign (version 1.5); Corel Draw (versions 5.x - 9.x); Adobe Illustrator (versions 6.x-8.x); Macromedia FreeHand (versions 5.x-8.x); or Adobe Photoshop (versions 2.x-5.x). If you are supplying your files as print ready PDF or Postscript files, please call The National Dipper for information on our printer's procedures. Four color process: matchprint or chromalin to be supplied by advertiser or advertising agency. If proofs are not supplied, proofs will be made and billed at trade rates. Laser printer copies are not acceptable. Color printing sequence is: black, blue, red, yellow. Please call The National Dipper for complete Electronic specifications. 16. MAILING AND SHIPPING
THE NATIONAL DIPPER is mailed by periodicals rate mail on the 15th of the first month of publication date, i.e. the January/February issue is mailed January 15th. Space orders, insertion instructions, correspondence, proofs, copy and film for ads and all production materials must be addressed to: THE NATIONAL DIPPER, 1028 W. 17. CLOSING

Material deadline is five days after closing, i.e., the March/April issue closes February 10, material deadline is February 15th. When a change of copy, covered by an insertion order, is not received in writing, by the closing date, copy received prior to closing will be inserted.

18. LAYOUT SERVICES
Complete layout, art services, typesetting and photographic services are available from the publisher. A minimum charge of $50.00 for ads 1/2 page or smaller, larger ads will be charged at a minimum of $100.00. Ads with halftones (photos and/or graphics) should add an additional $40.00 per halftone. Advertiser will be billed for any additional charges over the minimum. Payment must accompany materials. Production charges are not commissionable. Agency commission will not be allowed on ads produced in whole or part by the publisher.

19. PUBLISHER'S COPY PROTECTIVE CLAUSE
Advertisers and advertising agencies assume any liability for all content (including text, representation and illustration) of advertisements printed, and also assume responsibility for any claim arising therefrom made against the publisher. The publisher reserves the right to reject at any time any advertising which is not in keeping with the publication's standards. The publisher assumes no liability for errors in the inquiry number or advertisers’ index. Publisher shall not be liable for any failure to print, publish or circulate all or any portion of any issue in which an advertisement accepted by the publisher is contained if such failure is due to acts of God, strikes, accidents or other circumstances beyond the publisher's control.

20. EDITORIAL STATEMENT
THE NATIONAL DIPPER is edited for frozen dessert store owners and managers. Regular departments include industry news, association news, new products, calendar of events. Feature articles are dedicated to helping owners sell more products. Features give owners information about products and services. Industry experts share their knowledge: selling techniques and management experiences. Profiles of successful stores are featured.

21. CIRCULATION
THE NATIONAL DIPPER is mailed to thousands of frozen dessert stores in the United States and Canada, six times a year.

22. SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscriptions are available to qualified retailers, distributors and manufacturers in the frozen dessert and related industries. Subscribers must update their subscriptions on a yearly basis to satisfy postal regulations for periodicals mailing.

23. INQUIRY CARDS
Inquiry cards will be included in each issue. Advertising and editorial will be assigned inquiry numbers. Responses are mailed to advertisers, on gummed labels. Mailing label includes person's name, company name, address, phone number and codes for title, business classification, amount of ice cream sold weekly and whether the company makes it own ice cream. Inquiries will be withheld if invoices for advertising are not paid in 30 days from date of invoice.

To be eligible for regional rates, the states in which you distribute mercahndise and /or services must be prominently displayed in the ad. A maximum of eight contiguous states will be allowed. If you distribute product and/or services in nine or more states, refer to national rates.
